Our Top Choice...
Blenders are one of those super handy, multi-use kitchen appliances. A full size blender makes tasty frozen cocktails, blended soups and amazing milkshakes.
But… they’re also big, and noisy and frankly, if you just want a breakfast smoothie or a protein shake after a workout, pulling out your full size blender is just a pain.
For those times when you just want enough for a single serving, or if you live alone and don’t need a full size blender, a personal blender is the perfect answer. These smaller, more compact versions of the regular kitchen blender are perfect for single serving smoothies, shakes and even dips for parties.
Most personal blenders come with containers that can go from the blender to your car’s cup holder with little work. So a personal blender is the perfect way to take your favorite smoothie with you, without making a bunch of dirty dishes.
Many personal blenders are compact enough that you won’t think twice about leaving it set on your countertop. Even in a small kitchen these compact appliances take up little space and are a handy addition to your cooking arsenal.
We love smoothies, and we really like appliances that make our life easier, so naturally, we had a great time reviewing these personal blenders. We made a lot of smoothies, in many different personal blenders. Then we read tons of user reviews of these same blenders.

7 Best Personal Blenders (2020 Reviews)
1. Best Overall - The Magic Bullet Countertop Blender
If you’re in the market for a personal blender, and you want to get the most for your money, but still get a great product, then you’ll want our pick for the best personal blender, the Magic Bullet Countertop blender.
This personal blender was super easy to use. Simply fill the cup, screw on the blades, snap the cup in the base, press down and you’re off! One of the features that we like the best about this blender is the way it operates. There are no special settings, you don’t have to think about which power setting to use, or how to set the pulse function. This blender has one speed, no buttons, and to pulse, just reduce pressure on the cup. It’s that easy.
Don’t be fooled by the lower 250 watt power rating. This tiny countertop blender has plenty of power, and can even crush ice, with little issue. We don’t recommend using this blender for nuts, they seem to be a bit much for this blender, but it does a fantastic job with fruits, veggies, leafy greens and even ice cream and yogurt.
Another feature that we like about the Magic Bullet is that it comes with a variety of lid for the containers, and they are all interchangeable. It’s a pain when you have to find the right lid to fit the right container. All of the Magic Bullet containers are wide mouthed, and use the same lids. This set comes with lids that can turn the container into portable drink cups, a lid that works as a pitcher and solid lids for transporting dips and sauces.
If you want a great personal blender that gives you plenty of versatility, but at a reasonable price, the Magic Bullet Countertop blender is the perfect fit for you. It’s also our pick for the best personal blender.
High-speed mixing system
Compact and portable
Multiple pieces included
Easy to use
One color only
It could use bigger glasses
2. Runner Up - NutriBullet Pro 13-Piece High-Speed Blender
The NutriBullet Pro is our runner up best personal blender. Made by the same company as the Magic Bullet, this larger size, more powerful personal blender is a great option if you want more capacity, but still have simple operation.
The NutriBullet Pro has the same simple operation. Fill the cup, screw on the blades, snap into the base, press and go. When you pick the NutriBullet Pro, you get a ton of additional power. While the Magic Bullet comes in at 250 watts, and works just fine, the NutriBullet Pro has 900 watts of power. This added power is perfect for blending ice, but can also make quick work of chopping nuts. The added power does make this unit a bit noisier, but that a minor deficiency.
We would have liked this option better if it came with a few more blender cups. This set comes with three 32 ounce cups, which is fine, but we do like the smaller cups for making dips and sauces.
For the price, this is a great blender, but it isn’t the same value as the Magic Bullet.
Multiple pieces included
Several colors to choose from
A bit high priced
Reports of leaking
Only 1 year warranty
3. Best Budget - La Reveuse Smoothies Personal Blender
If you want a personal blender that gives you the best portability from the stand to your car, then the La Reveuse Personal Blender is a great option for you.
This compact personal blender has a tiny footprint and fits perfectly on your counter. It’s easy operation allows you to quickly make your favorite healthy shakes and smoothies.
The 4-blade, blender with 300 watts of power does fine with ice, so long as the cubes are small. This blender comes with an ice tray so you can make ice cubes that are the perfect size for this blender to manage.
The blender cup has a to-go drinking lid, so it’s super portable. The slender size fits well in most car drink holders.
The price is right with this personal blender. We do wish it came with another cup, however. You have to wash it every time you use it, and if you forget, you’ve got no back up.
Very portable and convenient
Super easy operation
BPA free, blender is with UL certified and 2 year warranty
Only one container
4. Best for Beginners - Oster BLSTPB-WBL Blender
If you want a simple to use personal blender, because, well, you’re new to this healthy drink thing, then you should consider the Oster Personal Blender.
This compact blender is perfect for setting on your counter for daily smoothies and shakes from your favorite fruits and veggies. The simple operation of this blender allows you to fill the cup, put on the blades, set in the base and go. There are no button controls, and like the first four products, you simply press down on the cup to start the motor.
This personal blender comes in a variety of fun colors, and the blender cup coordinates with the blender color. This blender comes with a travel top, so when your smoothie is ready, you can take it with you without worrying about spilling in your car.
This is another personal blender that we think could come with another cup, but for the price, this is a great starter blender.
Compact and small footprint
Very easy to operate
Lightweight and portable
Easy to clean
Not as durable
5. Best for Travel - Hamilton Beach Personal Blender for Shakes and Smoothies
The Hamilton Beach Personal Blender allows you to take your favorite smoothies and shakes anywhere you go. This ultra-compact blender has a super small footprint, so it is packable and perfect for traveling or for your office.
The 175 watt motor does a decent job of crushing ice, and is pretty quiet, so you can feel comfortable using it in hotel rooms or during a busy day at work.
One thing that we didn’t like about this blender is that the blades don’t come out of the cup. You just have to take the cup, with the blades, throw on the lid and go. It feels like you’re drinking out of the pitcher of your regular blender. On the flipside, you only have two parts to worry about, so you don’t have to store a bunch of accessories.
The cup, blades and lid are all dishwasher safe, so this one is easy to clean when you’re done using it.
Light and portable
Blending jar also functions as portable travel cup
Multiple colors to choose from
Simple one touch blending
Not the most powerful
Lid is troublesome
6. Best Value - Ninja Nutri Pro Compact Personal Blender
With the Ninja Nutri Pro personal blender, you get a ton of power, simple operation and a variety of blender accessories.
This personal blender has 900 watts of power so it is great for crushing ice or even chopping nuts. There are no buttons or adjustable power settings, so you don’t have to worry about which setting is right. Just insert the cup and go.
We really like that this blender comes with three different sized blender cups. The range of sizes is perfect for smoothies, juices and dips. It also comes with three, “Sip and Go” lids that allow you to take your smoothie or shake on the road. We do wish that the set came with a plain lid for covering dips and sauces.
For the money, you get a good set of accessories, and more power than with some other personal blenders, which makes it a really great blender for the price.
Very simple operation
Comes with a 75-recipe cookbook
All parts are dishwasher safe
No automatic programs
Not great warranty
The Cuisinart Personal Blender is a really great product if you’re looking for a personal blender that does more than just make smoothies.
This blender not only comes with four smoothie cups, with to-go lids, but it also comes with a small sized, traditional blender container. The Cuisinart personal blender is perfect for making your morning smoothie, but easily helps you puree tomatoes or chop veggies for your dinner.
The middle of the road power of this blender (350 watts), gives you enough juice to crush ice, as well as chop soft nuts like pine nuts and walnuts.
This blender does have push button operation, which is unique to many, basic personal blenders. However, they are intuitive and simple to use.
Two interchangeable blades
High, low and pulse controls
Great features Standby Mode, Safety interlock and Auto Stop
Easy to clean
Ice cubes are challenging
Our favorite personal blender, The Magic Bullet Countertop Blender , is easy to use, makes quick work of ice and nuts, and doesn’t take up a ton of space on the counter. It’s a great addition to our kitchen, and it won’t break the bank.
A personal blender is one of those appliances that you didn’t realize you needed until you have one. These powerful, compact blenders are a great replacement for your full-size blender, when it comes to making healthy and fast smoothies and shakes.
How to Choose the Best Personal Blender
Picking the best personal blender for your kitchen doesn’t have to be a chore. We’ve put together this list of product features that you should consider when you’re shopping for the right personal blender for your kitchen.
Ease of Use
If you regularly make early morning shakes or smoothies after workouts or as a quick and healthy to-go breakfast, you know that if you’ve got to work too hard for the result, it’s just easier to pick up a fast food breakfast on the way to the office.
Personal blenders shouldn’t be complicated to use. Most have a simple on/off button or a high/low option. Some have no buttons at all, and simply require you to push down on the container to start the motor.
Also, look for blenders that have containers that double as a travel mug or cup. This reduces the number of dishes you get dirty, and you don’t have to worry about transferring and making a mess of your kitchen.
Wattage is generally the way power is measured in motorized kitchen appliances. The higher the wattage value, the more power. When you’re shopping for a personal blender, consider first what kinds of foods you will be putting in your blender most often. If you like to mix soft fruits, yogurt and liquids in your personal blender, you can get away with a lower wattage. If you like to add ice or fresh nuts to your smoothies, you’ll want to look for more wattage, to make quick work of harder foods.
Something to keep in mind about power; power can also translate into noise. The more power the louder your personal blender might be. If you are going to be getting up in the morning and starting the day with a smoothie, while your family is still snoozing, you may want to pick a personal blender with lower power, so it’s a bit quieter.
The capacity that you select really has a lot to do with how much smoothie or shake you want, and how to get there with minimal waste. Many personal blenders come with the basic 32 ounce blender cup. Keeping in mind that ingredients that you pack into the blender cup will reduce in size with blending, 32 ounces is a pretty good start.
You want more versatility or if you plan on using your personal blender for something other than smoothies or shakes, there is benefit in looking for a personal blender that comes with a variety of blender cups. This will allow you to make smaller quantities of your favorite blended foods and drinks, with less waste.
Ease to Clean
There’s not much to be said about cleaning your personal blender. These appliances are generally pretty simple, with not a lot of extra parts. In general, look for blender cups and blades that can go in the dishwasher. This will make clean-up a breeze, and you’ll like your personal blender more, if it isn’t a ton of work to tidy up after.
